Is a low Creatinine level cause for concern?

Hi.  My mom's blood work came back with a reading of Creatinine as 0.38 and normal range is 0.60 - 0.88.  BUN/Creatinine ratio is:  29 H, and normal range with our lab is 6-22.

What should she do in order for this level to go to normal?  Does this mean the kidneys and/or liver are not functioning at their optimal level?

Does this have to do more with the liver or kidneys?

Thank God, blood sodium went from 122 to 130 in 3 weeks' time.

Thank you very much, and I would greatly appreciate a reply.

Cathie, just want to be sure that you will call her Doctor to ask any questions that.you have about any blood tests as the readings can be very frightening for we lay people. :)

Again, looking forward to your updates.

Hi Cathie.  :)

First I want to let you know I'm so happy that you have found our Forum.  :)  I need to let you know that there are no Doctor's on this Forum.

Before I say anything else, I want you to know what a LUCKY Lady you Mom is to have such a loving Daughter to look after her and worry about her and look after her and care enough to help her.  I know she's very PROUD of you and loves you just as much. :)

Cathie, does your Mom have any problem with her kidney's?  Does she have diabetes?
The reason I ask is because, if there are no other problems, then normally a LOW reading in the blood isn't a bad thing.  I've had a lot of experience with this before because I lost my husband to Diabetes in 1997, so I was constantly monitoring his Creatinine levels with our Doctor.  Have you talked to her Doctor about this?  Now REMEMBER, I'm no Doctor, just a CPP (Chronic Pain Patient), so this is just coming from my personal experience.

Looking forward to your answers about your Mom.   ..........Sherry  :)
