BTW I'm a female in my twenties!
I also had micro. blood in urine for 5 yrs. My GP insisted for me to see Urologist. More to the point. I had cystoscopy and they found a polyp. I then had surgery to remove it. Thank God I seen the dr. today and he now refered to it as a tumor. The good news is that it was beign. Guess what---- I still have micro. blood in urine. He told me some people just have it. My cystoscopy was not done under any anesthsia. It hurts but it's quick. The surgery to remove it was under general anesthsia in hospital as out patient.
Good luck. Follow thru with it.

The underlying cause of IC symptoms is a systemic Candida or other yeast/fungal infection stemming from the vaginal tract, colon and/or bladder. Many will have no obvious symptoms such as cottage cheese. This yeast infection can be compounded by other bacterial infections (usually enterococcus) making the pain even worse. Therapies that have worked to heal IC include long term antibiotic and antifungal therapy, candida and IC diet. The hardest infection to get rid of is by far the systemic yeast infection. This will take a few months to a couple of years to get rid of and heal, depending on how disciplined you can be, the condition of your immune system, the extent of your yeast infection. Other things you can do to help, bladder irrigations of povidone-iodine, pov-iodine douches (extra concentrated, get it at the pharmacy and add more, or make it yourself), baking soda douches (works awesome, candida cannot survive basic environments), nystatin douches (superb), douches with oil of oregano and tea tree oil (can also add nystatin to this), betadine washes around the genital area, consuming foods rich in iodine(kelp, fish, iodine is nature's best tool against candida,), avoiding fluoridated water (toxic industrial waste that displaces iodine), avoid white bread (has bromide and displaces iodine), use Lugol's solution drops in your water to supplement iodine (ebay). Another old home remedy that works very well is: 1 part baking soda and 3 parts organic maple syrup, heat in pan for 5 minutes with a little bit of water to chemically fuse the two, have a tablespoon a day. Reasoning behind this is candida loves sugar, not only will the sugar get eaten by the yeast, but it will also be getting a shot of baking soda and weaken or die off. Absolutely brilliant discovery.
Don't take my word for it, do your own research and evaluate everything.
Stick with it and the polyps should shrink away, the bleeding and the pain will stop and you will get your life back. Don't give up.

Do not delay....Go to a Urologist!
My dad had blood in urine for 3years now. His family Dr. kept saying it was his prostate and then a very tiny Kidney Stone. I finally got him to see a Urologist and they found a fairly large Polyp in his bladder. He now is scheduled for surgery. We are hoping for the best. I have read if Bladder Cancer is found early, survival rate is around 94%.
Could polyps in the bladder be the underlying cause of UTI and incontinence and mood changes? Also, after surgery, what are the chances of recurring UTI's?
I have been suffering with blood in my urine for 4 years. My doc didn't do anything about it.. Kept giving me Anto biotics over and over again. Never once did she even refer me to the hospital. She then booked me in for an operation as she said I had a prolapse. I got a second opinion and I didn't have one!
My fiancé then complained and all of a sudden 3 1/2 years later sent me to the urologist and he gave me cytoscopy and it truly was awful. But didn't find anything. He said that's it you are one of those people who will be on antibiotics for the rest of your life. Started taking them and still not feeling better. Constantly felt dirty.
We moved I joined a new surgery and they sat down with me to give me a new patient health check. Talked about the UTIs I was suffering from and they decided to examine me... Guess what they found two large polyps. I have now been referred to the hospital to see a specialist. Really am thinking of putting in a complaint to the GMC. This should have been picked up years ago.
Don't give up. Also I know that my body produces to much yeast, and now I have started a candida diet. No bread, pasta, sugar etc. I eat lots of natural yogurt which is a big help.
I hope you get this sorted don't give up you know your body better than any doctor.
