Burning sensation in pennis

Hi,

For the last 3 to 4 weeks I have been feeling burning sensation on my Pennis as well as frequent pain in my testicle.
I consulted a urologist first and he put me on doxycycline and since I was not getting better, he then put me on Cipro but still I was not feeling better.
Ultra sound scans were done on my testicle as well as kidney and everything was fine. I also had Specimen taken from my pennis tested for STDs, it cameout  negative.
I decided to consult my regular physician and he has sent my urine sample for culturing today. He has prescribed azithromycin and  I am going to start the course from today. I am really worried about what exactly is going on...
Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks,

Vilas

Today I went to my Urologist again and he told that I have an infection. I have also started feeling imcomplete urniation. He has prescribed LEVAQUIN 500 for 14days (1 per day).

Could you please help me to understand for what kind of infection LEVAQUIN is prescribed and how it is different from Cipro? How long will this antibiotic take to reduce the symptoms?

Thanks Again

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms and the investigations already done, urinary tract infection and urethritis needs to be ruled out. I would suggest a 24 hrs urine test and a swab culture of the discharge to confirm the diagnosis. Unfortunately treatment is diagnosis specific and these investigations are needed for diagnosis. Till then drink plenty of fluids and cranberry juice because if it is simple UTI, then adequate amount of fluids will flush out the infection.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
