Can you apply Ketoconazole cream in your butt crack and under foreskin/penis head?

is it ok to put it in closed areas like in the butt crack and under foreskin?

the doctor just gave me the cream and told me to apply it but is it ok to put it in closed areas like that? and does it matter if some gets around the urethra area (not in, just around it)

also iss it anti itch or has my crotch not been itchy cause its already killing the fungus? (ive used it for 2 days so far)

Hi there!

Ketoconazole is an anti-fungal agent and not an anti-itch, though it may be available commercially in combination with an anti-itch ointment. The concentration of the medication in ointements is usually low and does not cause skin irritation. It can be safely applied to sensitive areas if prescribed by your treating doctor. However the use should be discontinued, if any kind of adverse reaction occurs.
Hope the information is helpful.

Take care!

Hello,
What you are having may be a fungal infection of the penis and buttocks. Clotrimazole is a good treatment option for the same. However it is better to keep the area dry and wear dry clothes which help in quick healing. If the symptoms persist then you may need oral antifungals as well.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
