Hard Left Testicle

Hi there,  I am a 30 year old man. I unfortunatly sat on a pin about 2 months ago. My wife does sewing sometimes on the sofa.  The pin pierced my right testicle. It went almost all the way in.  I went to the gp after much hesitance. As I suspected, as with most male problems, he said there's nothing to worry about as the bruising will go away in time and he did not think the testicle was pierced. I know it was, it took a while to pull it out!!!  3 weeks later, I was still in pain and still bruised. My wife has fought with me everyday to get another opinion.  I then went & dropped my pants for another opinion. Again it was the same story, - a urologist is not necessary and a coarse of antibiotics and anti-inflammation should sort out the bruising etc. Funny he gives me this just after he tells me that there's NO inflammation and NO infection. Then why the pills???  Personally, and from 3 friends I have who have had vasectomies and have complications, most doctors don't seem to know the cause of the pain. It's another 3 weeks later and no change.  And now to top it, I need a referral from my gp to see a urologist!!  My wife is so mad with me coz I refuse to go. Why should I be running around from doc to doc, dropping my pants for all the doctors.  By the time I'm finished with this, all the doctors in this small town would have seen me!!  In your opinion, what do you suspect the problem to be?  Thanks again for a great forum!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
How are you? Testicles are easily injured because they are not protected by muscle or bone. The type of injury could include ruptured blood vessels or tearing of the testicle resulting to pain. Possible injuries include penetrating injury such as what happened to you. Injuries to the testicles can be assessed by physical examination, ultrasound and MRI scan. If the testicles seem normal,  pain-killing medication may be prescribed for the pain. However, any damage to the testicles must be surgically repaired.

I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
