Intermittent Cahteterization

In October I had a CT scan that showed a dilated bladder. I went to a Urologist that said I was full of urine. He put a folley Cath in and drained over 1000cc out of me. He left the cath in for two weeks said I had BHP and performed a TUNA on me to help me pass urine. After a week he removed the cath and send me home. This was done at 10 am by 5 pm I could not pass urine. I went to the ER and had the Folley replaced and they drianed another 1000cc. A week after that my Doctor removed the Foley and taught me to intermittent Cath myself. My Urologist is very busy and does not answer questions well. I have no problem with Cathing myself but am I doomed to this for the rest of my life?  Or sould I be asking more questions? Also they gave me 2 intermittent caths and told me to wash them and every week soak in vinager.Need some advice please...Has my bladder inop that is the reason I can not pee? Or shouldI give this some time??  Help!

I too had to learn to cath myself it was the result of a surgery to remove a couple of kidney stones that had been obstructing my ureters. after doing this for a little over a year i have regained partcial control of my bladder back i usually only need to cath a couple times a week or when i have some sort of infection in my bladder or kidneys. i dont know if this helps in answering your question or not but i just thoght i would share my expeirence in cathing my self with you. i wish you all the luck and hope your situation improves as mine has begun to already.
