Pain in Penis

FTJ
Whenever i touch the tip of my penis on the left side it hurts--not a burning pain, but one that feels more like a harsh bruise. If I dont touch it, it doesnt hurt. Stranger yet, it only hurts if i touch it lightly--if i put a significant amount of pressure on the spot, I dont feel anything.  There are no other symptoms whatsoever--no redness, burning, spots, swelling, lumps, other health problems, etc.  Its lasted for over 48 hours now. Is there anyway this could be an STD (i had unprotected sex about 2 weeks ago)?

Hi,

Altered pain sensation is mediated through abnormalities of the neurological supply of the affected area and can occur in infections that affect the nerves (herpes), systemic vitamin deficiencies (vitamin B12), or compression of the nerve at the spinal root or anywhere along its course.

If you have had an unprotected sexual encounter and could have been exposed to herpes simplex virus, it is possible that these symptoms are a manifestation of the infection. Herpes infection can manifest between 2 to 20 days from contact and can present with pain or a rash or burning pain or soreness in penis.

The extent and intensity of the initial reaction varies. Confirmatory test to detect herpes is a blood test.

If infected with HSV, do note that there is no cure though treatment is possible to aid relief from symptoms during reactivation. You will need to use a condom in intercourse with other sexual contacts so as to avoid infecting them.
Do keep us posted on any doubts
regards
