Thanks for your reply. There's conflicting info on the web about the relatonship between epidiymitis and vasectomy. I have never been the same since the op and there may be no relationship between the two, but my problems down below definitely started soon after the op. There appear to be many causes of epididymitis and that's why i posted the question.
Hi, It is odd that you have this problem after a vasectomy. I used to come down with this about every 3 to 4 months requiring hospitalizations. I thought that it had to do with me having a neurogenic bladder. In 1999 after my wife and I had four children I decided to have a vasectomy to see if this would bring an end to the infections.
I had read that it used to be comon to give males a vasectomy while having prostate surgery. The felling was that this prevented them from having infections since this would elliminate the chance of an infection going down into the testicles.
I had a complication from the vasectomy and in 2000 I lost the left testicle as a result of it. Other than that I have not had orchitis or epididimytis since.
I don't undertand as to why you have this after a vasectomy. The channel of infection was eliminated when you had a vasectomy.
All the best.
