Hi,
I had a Turp and resection of the bladder neck in 1995 at the age of 30. After that I have had retrograde ejeculation. My wife and I were still able to have our 3rd child conceived.
Currently I have poor sensation during ejeculation and minimal ejeculate comes out. Most of the semen I passed when I urinate after ejeculation.
I used to work as a heavy duty mechanic and did not return to light duty untill 6 weeks after the TURP.
All the best.
Ron
I had a turp done. My doctor never told me about retrograde ejaculation prior. If he would have told me, I would never had the turp. I would continue to self catheter 4 times a day until I found about something like TUNA procedure. Urology seems to be in denial how devastating retrograde ejaculation and the seemingly concurrent lack of sexual pleasure is to the patient. Anyway after 4 months I am back self cathetering. Even in those four months although my stream was strong, it was rather short in duration. The only conclusion is that my supposed enlarged bladder was not the main problem. And I won't know for another 6 months. I mean what sort of doctor sees you for 5 minutes after traveling 125 miles to see him tells you to self cathetering again and gives you another appointment in 6 months.
You don't know how angry and depressed I and many others are. You would think in this day and age there would be a procedure, or a genetic treatment to rebuild the damage done to whatever part of the anatomy that causes retrograde ejaculation and the lack of sexual pleasure(even pain for many of us during dry orgasm)that goes with RE.
btw, whatever happened to the Hippocratic oath "first do no harm"
correction: should be in end of last paragraph: "You would think in this day and age there would be a procedure, or a genetic treatment to rebuild the damage done to whatever part of the anatomy that causes retrograde ejaculation and the lack of sexual pleasure(even pain for many of us during dry orgasm)" CORRECTION: that occurs after the pemanent destruction by the Turp operation
Wow! must have been an "immaculate conception". But seriously I feel compelled to keep criticizing the urology establishment for minimizing or downright dismissing the devastation to one's not being human anymore. If you can't ejaculate(reproduction is at the core of being a human being)anymore, you become an "it". Furthermore just as devastating is the displeasure and even pain, in dry orgasm that is caused by TURP. Again it is permanent due to the destruction of that part of the anatomy that allows semen to flow outside of you because of the TURP procedure. Again my surgeon/urologist never told me about dry orgasm(i.e. RE) being permanent after the turp procedure. I would have not gone through with it if I was told of retrograde ejaculation(RE) post turp prior. My urologist is a nasty young urologist. But I think the majority of neurolgists who decent people are just as culpable for minimizing or dismissing RE or dry orgasm and ther sexual displeasure and even pain that seems concurrent with RA.
I know it's late in the day but I am reaching out to fellow sufferers from a turp. My urologist said there was a 45% chance of normaslcy after the procedure. Bul..t.
I would appreciate any communication you wiant to make.
My Urologist never told me the negatives of TURP. Had he told me about the permanent Retro Grade Ejaculation, I would have glady gotten up a 100 times a night if that was what it took to avoid this Butcher. I unfortunately waited to long before I decided to take this clown to court. Guys, run for the hills if your Dr. suggests TURP. I understand there is a procedure called TUNA has does not cause Retro Grade Ejaculation. Must me cheaper to do is why it is never suggested. When I complained to a NEW UROLOGIST, he just flippantly replied : " Well you don't want anymore children anyway, do you?" I replied you obviously can still *** out of your penis, because anyone with half a brain would know that the experience is not the same and oft times painful.
I suppose I've been an "it" all my life, because I have an congenital version of retrograde ejaculation. I've seen a Urologist, had ultrasounds and MRI's, and there is nothing that can be done about it. The only way I could likely have a child is if they collect my urine after "ejaculation", separate the semen out and wash it, then turkey baste the batch into the woman. It's actually relatively simple and cheap to do, as it's low tech as hell, but I've always thought adopting is far more noble anyways. I can see past the need to spread my genes and help an unwanted child that would otherwise become a blight on society.
Anyways, count the blessings for the good times you had. ***** to have lost ejaculation, but at least you had for some time.
