White spots, peeling penis

My penis started having some white spots and I went to the doctor and she said nothing was going on. Then a few days passed and on the bottom right corner of the head of penis I had a dry spot. This spot peels off very easily. Should I worry about it? Can that be related to any STDs?

I must apologize. I misunderstood. I thought your MD had seen your skin condition. If your physician did not "see" your penis as it is now - than I encourage you return for a second consult.

I don't think this is an STD. It may be something like Candidiasis - which is a Yeast Candidiasis (thrush). It's a fungal infection caused by yeasts. There are many species of Candida yeasts that can cause infection in humans. This is not classifies as an STD as one doesn't have to have sexual contact in order to develop this condition. Here's a bit more information.

Men with Genital Candidiasis may experience:

Around the head of the penis:
Red skin -  Swelling - Irritation and soreness - Itchiness - Inflammation -
And the Kicker - White Patches On the Skin.

This does not mean - nor am I saying that you have Genital Candidiasis. It does mean you need to be re-evaluated. Don't be embarrassed - believe me your Physician has seen this and much more before! Make that appointment and go.

Dermatologists are also very good at treating these skin conditions. Whomever you chose to consult will be fine - just go. I hope you'll let me know what you find out - if that's not being too personal.

Best of luck to you my friend. I'll look forward to hearing from you soon.

She didn't. When I saw the doctor, the whole thing was just starting so there wasn't a lot to be showed.

I have never experienced that before. That is why I am worried about it. I don't have any other parts in my body that are dry.

I am 22. I have been using a clotrimazole cream and the peeling has gone away. I just see the white spots very prominent on the head of my penis. And there is one vein that is also popped up around my penis.

Can that be any fungal/yeast infection? Std's?

Thank you for your answer it already helped me a lot

Hello and Welcome.

If your Doc said you had nothing to worry about - than I assume she is correct.

Did she suggest anything? Does she think it might be dry skin? It sounds to me as if your skin is dry. Is your skin dry in other places of your body?

I don't know how old you are. I suggest that you talk to your Pharmacist for a suggestion of ointments or lotions to use on your skin and penis.

Showering with soap too often can dry out your skin - that includes shampooing. We all need to be clean but unless absolutely necessary you shouldn't be showering more than once a day - and some dermatologist think that's too often. Avoid harsh soaps that dry your skin or scalp out.

If the dry patches don't clear up or if they worsen be sure to consult your Doc again - or if you weren't satisfied with her answer see her again.

Best of Luck and Take Care,
