oh yea, i was also tested for mycoplasma and ureaplasma as well. those came back negative too. i think the last tests for me to take is the ones for trich and yeast. but everytime i ask my doctor about it he says, theres no need for it because trich is usually a vaginal bacteria and barely ever effects men. i just need to do it anyway
i thought that herpes would give me very painful sores that scab over and heal. just wondering but, thats what i always thought herpes did.
my penis is just red and irritated and slightly dry. and when ever i pull the skin back to go to the bathroom, there is a slight odor that i never had before and whenever i ejaculate there is a clearish discharge that still comes out for several minutes afterwards.
Trichomonas is not very sensitive to ciprofloxacin. Ciprofloxacin does have some cytotoxic effect on trichomonas, but it would not be significant enough to cure or eradicate the infection.
Trichomoniasis is associated with greenish, foul-smelling discharge, which is usually present. If the discharge you have is clear or whitish, it would tilt the diagnosis more in favor of yeast or herpes infection.
Since you tested negative for herpes, that would leave yeast.
You can start other measures like:
2 Capsules of cod-liver oil after a meal - this will help boost immunity and maintain skin integrity as it will help the mucosa become stronger to prevent any further infection.

do you think the cipro would have killed off the trich, if there even was any there?
Hi,
The specific treatment for trichomoniasis includes a drug called metronidazole (Flagyl) and/ or Azithromycin (Zithromax).
Treatment for a fungal infection(suspected candidiasis) would still warrant tests, such as culture, for isolating the organism.
Diflucan is used routinely in male patients affected with candidiasis, most commonly oral thrush.
It is difficult to deal with a disorder when you feel it is not being given due weightage by the physician you have consulted. You can discuss this further with the doctor you have been seeing or take a second opinion if you feel that a different viewpoint would help.
You can read up on trichomoniasis, yeast, and other STDs at the link pasted below:

It is more important to build up your immune system after the courses of antibiotics you have been on, with the dietary measures prescribed in my previous post, as long courses of antibiotic treatment can also predispose to yeast infection.
Sources rich in vitamin C, Iron, and vitamin A will help you recover faster.

i asked my doctor several times if it was trich and my doctor told me that if this was trich, the 3 weeks of cipro would have killed it. he said there was no need for testing with this or yeast. do you think i should be tested anyways? also, i asked them about using diflucan for yeast and they said they have never had to give diflucan to a male for treatment. i dont know what is going on, maybe i should go see a new doctor.
just wondering, what would be used to cure the trich?
Hi,
Unprotected sex can expose one to several infectious organisms, the most common of which you have been tested for. From the symptoms you have listed and the fact that the infection appeared to subside with the antifungals, there is a strong possibility that you could still be suffering from a yeast infection (candidiasis). Treatment is most effective if the organism causing the infection can be identified - in this case, that would be through a fungal culture.
It is best that any medication, such as flucanozole, be taken under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner.
Another possible infection that you have not been tested for is trichomoniasis. This would fit your symptoms as well.
Some measures you can take to mitigate your condition are:
Drinking more than 2 liters of water per day.
Drinking cranberry juice.
Being gentle with hygiene of the affected area.
Avoiding use of any chemicals on the affected area.
keeping the area dry and clean.
Diflucan would be the best option for treatment if your condition is diagnosed as an yeast infection, but it would be best not to start the medication without being sure whether it is yeast.
Do keep us posted on your progress.
