Scared of Kidney Cancer

I recently experienced blood in my urine for a few days, which really freaked me out.

I went to my GP and he too saw blood, but no infection. Doctor has order blood work (which I've already head drawn, no results yet), a CT with contrast and urologist referral but I don't get to have those for a week or so. I'm terrified it's cancer.

I'm 50, female, never smoked, not overweight and had a complete blood panel done 3 months ago that showed normal kidney function, among other things. I have no other symptoms and don't exercise excessively by any stretch.

Could this be something benign? Anyone?

Thanks
