erection pain

I have a pain in my penis when erect. It sort of feels like there is a hard patch in the shaft of it, but so far no sign of bending. Could this be an early stage of peyronies? or possibly something else? I can only feel the patch, and pain when erect. Should I have this checked? And will my doctor check my penis while it is erect?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The cause of erectile pain are Peyronie's disease, penile mass, priapism( continuous erection which lasts for more than 4 hours and does not end in ejaculation) , phimosis and penile Injury. Phimosis and tight foreskin and STD’s too can cause painful erections. In peyronie’s disease , there’s a bending of the penis, thickening/hard nodules in the penis which can be felt and is usually associated with pain. My sincere advice would be to consult a urologist. Treatment can involve injection of certain medications into the plaque, radiation therapy or surgery.

Hope it helps. Take care and regards.
