Hi,
My doctor said no sexaual activities for about 14 days. Does masturbation / ejaculation count to "sexual activities"?
Pain medication (Tylenol) as needed but I don't need any. I don't take antibiotics. I wear jockey shorts all day, use ice packs since two days and clean the scorum and the incision with antiseptic wipes three times daily. Nothing is swollen or infected. Everything looks fine. I try to stay off my feet as much as possible but with two children it's not that easy.
When can I put some Vitamin E oil on the incisions to make the cuts heal better and faster?
Hi,
It is important that you follow your doctor’s instructions, including his direction regarding rest and the use of pain medications or antibiotics. Regular work activities may be resumed after a few days of rest following the procedure. While sexual activities can usually be resumed after one to two weeks. You should not consider resuming sexual activity or intercourse from 72 hours to a couple of weeks following surgery. Remember that sterility is not immediate and use alternative form of birth control. Semen sample testing after a few weeks following a vasectomy is usually the standard procedure.
At this point, wear a snug scrotal support garment or jockey shorts for about one week after the procedure. Elevate your legs, stay off your feet, and use ice packs liberally to soothe the scrotal area during the first few days to help minimize any swelling and discomfort. Take care and regards.
