prostatectomy fistula

I had a prostatectomy. When clearing the catheter, the catheter tip "suctioned" my bladder. I developed a fistula (CT Scan: The tip of the catheter was inside the fistula). Did this happen because the bladder in general was weakened, bad luck, other?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for this question but sorry you must ask it. I would most certainly try to get answers from your treating physician. Please let us know their response. It is my understanding that this is a rare complication. We're sorry it happened!
