16 days ago, I started to feel like there was still urine in my urethra, I can pinpoint the start down to the half hour. I'm a otherwise healthy 39 year old male. I didn't think much of it, but I then started feeling the urge to go after I'd finished going, and the sensation of leaking without actually leaking. At first, I thought it was a bladder infection, so I took some over the counter meds for that, but after a few days I stopped and decided to go to the clinic. They tested my urine finding nothing, so a bladder infection was then ruled out and I was diagnosed with prostatitis. I've been on 100mg of doxycycline hyclate, twice a day for 9 days. I've cut out dairy, processed sugar, red meat, and wheat products. I've been eating salads without dressing, chicken, turkey, and dry rice cereal. The symptoms aren't as intense, but still there. Parts of some days I have no issues, then other parts of the days I do. I had no issues yesterday hardly at all, then I used the bathroom, and sat down for a few minutes, then stood up and it felt like I leaked and the sensation lasted the rest of the day. I do occasionally dribble, but only every so often, and not usual until after I'm redressed and situated, the time between using the bathroom and any dribbling or leaking/urgency sensation starts doesn't matter, if it happens at all. I was wondering if there was
1.Something else I can be doing
2.If this is normal, or to be expected with this condition/infection and/or medication
3. Could I have been misdiagnosed? The doctor at the walk in clinic didn't explain much, including dietary restrictions (I had to look that up online).
Any help/insight/advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
THANK YOU!
