You could just ask the question of your regular physician. I would think that any qualified surgeon could do this rather than having to see a plastic surgeon. As far as health insurance, they would most likely not cover anything, since it would be considered strictly cosmetic in nature, unless you have very liberal coverage. No doubt after a divorce, you may want this as a fresh start without any roadblocks to romance, but most women, I believe, would not need you to have this done and would consider it a non-issue. However, I understand that there are some things a person just has to do for his/her own psychological outlook and confidence, no matter what others think.
Hi, I too had a testicle removed after developing a staph infection. The orchiectomy was performed as an emergency surgery, and due to it being so badly infected it was removed from the scrotum and then the effected half of the scrotum was left open to heal from the inside. At the time no option was given to me for an implant. Due to having part of the infected scrotum removed it is quite visable, however there should be enough of the scrotum for an implant.
I too wonder if this is possible and how to proceed in getting it done. I had the surgery 9 years ago.
I'm in a married relation but at times have had some people in dressing rooms stare at me and even ask questions. Other then that it does not bother me.
