Have you found relief yet? Sometimes during hernia surgery the nerve to the testicles can get caught in the hernia and stiched there.

I paid private for my hernia operation two years ago which has left me with chronic pain in my right testicle but they dont want to know me now. This pain is when something brushes against my testicle or my son catches it whilst playing and ever now and again it starts throbbing. I have been showing signs of depression and i want to have to operation to cure this but im told ther is only a 75% of sucess. I want to be sure im depressed because of this chronic pain before i make the decision because im told it could be worse after an op. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Pain especially chronic pain may indeed lead to depression.

Have you been experiencing signs and symptoms of depression lately?

I suggest you seek follow up consult with your surgeon. This may be a chronic pelvic pain condition that may require further evaluation and management.Chronic pain is managed wholistically and a spectrum of therapies are available to guide you.Aside from medical therapy for pain management , cognitive-behavioral and physical therapies may also be useful . Alternative medicine may also be able to contribute in providing stress and symptom management.

Try to be more positive about this. Continue to share with us your progress.
