urinary urgency, I wanna ask Darrell if he found a solution in the last 7 seven years ?

Sorry if this is against the rules, but 7 years ago there was a discussion here titled : "Why won't anything work????"   http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Urology/messages/30254.html
- And there was a men Darrell with extremelly similar symptoms. If anybody knows a way I can e-mail him and ask him if he manage to found a way...
- Basically it is about urinary urgency when all the analysis came back negative. No enlarged prostate, no pain, no burning, no discharge, urine culture negative.
Only symptom is urge to urinate wich after taking many antibiotics (prescribed by the doctor even though the analysis was negative) the urge decreased.
I don't have the urge at night (like others do). Even when I was very bad and almost cannot leave the house because the urge were very strong, I still didn't have the urge at night. Cranberry tea didn't help at all.
When I drinked less water - this seem to help even though doctors recomend increase intake of water.
I am a male - 27 year old. Never had urinay problems before.

Hello, I've been researching this "urge to urinate" issue for a while and I am glad I found this thread.  Anyway, my problem started last November.  I was just lying in bed and realize I had to pee.  Nothing unusual but right after I got back, i had to go again.  Not that there was a lot of urine the second time, just a strong urge.  I have had the urge since then.  Went to a urologist and everything came back negative.  He says it's probably stress.  The only thing is my condition is not as bad as when I first got it.  I mean I still have the urge but the urge is not as strong as in the beginning.  Hopefully, someone here can find a good remedy.  Cutting down on coffe has definitely helped.

Hello all, I am a little relieved I am not alone in this. I have the same symptoms as described above. I am 29 years old and the frequent urination came on out of nowhere. I have been urinating about every two hours and after I pee I feel a relief however the sensation shortly returns. I also have not experienced any pain or burning. I seem to be drinking more to quench my thirst lately (Work as an air conditioning tech in the Florida. Spend alot of time in the hot attics.) which in result increases the urge to urinate. I use to only pee 2-3 times a day now its all day long. I agree with the others I can sleep comfortably through the night without awaking to have to pee and at times if I am keeping busy I don't notice the urge as strongly. And if I do decrease my fluid intake it does help with the urge.

I have been to the walk in clinic and was checked for UTI, prostrate, diabetes, and blood in the urine. Every thing was negative and the doctor had no explanation for the symptoms. A week later I follwed up with my primary care physican and got the same results everything appears to be normal. He suggested there is possibly a  problem with my bladder and has suggested I see a urologist. He did reasure me he felt that there was nothing majorly wrong as the test all came back negative. He also suggested that I could await to see if the syptoms reside over the next few days before racing to the urologist. However, The symptom still exist so I planning on making an appointment with the urologist because I going freaking nuts with this frequent urge to pee. I will keep checking in and will update with the outcome of the urologist visit.

it is strange how people probably completely different...have the exact same simptoms.  Normally this is a rare condition. Having simptoms, without any infection, without an enlarged prostate..is not something that doctors meet everyday. At first I didn't found any any case like mine. But after a few months of searching on internet, I found at least 5 people with exact same simptoms.
medhelprequested   - I could use exactly the same words as you : The color of the urine. because I'm forced to drink less water. And at first I suspected some problem because of the color. But after that, like an experiment I tried to drink more water, then color change to normal..but it is terrible because you have to go always.

Alcohol and coffe didn\t worsen a lot, but definitelly makes it worse. And also when I slip less it is worse.

That medicine unfortunatelly it is only with prescription, but I think any doctor will prescribe it, because it not something powerfull, but it works from me. For now. I fear that maybe in the future it will stop working, if the problem will be worse.. Because the medicine it is not powerfull, I think it relaxes some muscle over there.

Also my doctor insisted that maybe it is all in my head. And maybe I'm stressed because of my work. And I explained to him that my work is very relaxing. But he insisted anyway.

The active ingredients translated in english with google is : sleep poppy herb . It is a liquid and you have to take it at least 2 time (better 3 times) a day, 40 drops at once. Tell that to your doctor because maybe in your country the medicine has another name.

Sometimes, a urine sample will test negative for blood. Suspecting other problems, a urologist might order a CT scan, which shows what's going on in much greater detail than an ultrasound. Anyway, you know your body best and I would not let a doctor tell me it is psychological when I know something is wrong. Doctors are trained in evidence-based medicine and usually make a diagnosis within 30 seconds of meeting you. Your goal is to shake them out of that routine.

I have had the urine test for blood, because the doctor said it could be a urinary infection. that was since the very beginning but negative. About being to the urologist i have, but havent had that scan that you say because my doctor asked for other analyses. As i said what i recently had was a Ultrasound of kidney and bladder. I dont exactly understand which test is for what, but in this case all was negative again. I dont know if this thing is comparable to the cat scan you say. Now i havent gone since then to the doctor because i dont really know what to say cuz all the time is like me saying NO, i still have the SAME PROBLEM, and sometimes they make me feel like if it is all psychological. so then i not only feel bad for my health, but also sad or guilty for being in such situation.

does anyone feel like a relief in the chest after urinating? i noticed that even though  i am not aware of it beforehand, after going to the loo, is like i could even breath better than before.

thanks

Urine the color of TEA is a classic sign of blood in the urine. Have you considered going to a urologist for a cystoscopy and abdominal CT scan or at least testing a urine sample for blood?
