If you've just began exercising, most likely, you are gaining muscle, not fat. I also know that the HCG diet requires strictly limiting calories; so if you've upped your calorie intake, you might also gain a bit to begin with until your body gets used to having/using those calories.
Can you let us know approx how many calories/day you are eating and what types of foods?
Thank you for responding, sorry my internet went down and I couldn't respond sooner than this.
Yes I was eating 500 cal and during maintenance they told me I could eat whenever I was hungry as long as I didn't eat sugars, white bread, rice, potatoes. Now I am done with maintenance and ready to face life with the real world again and to tell you the truth I don't even know how many calories I am suppose to eat a day. I am scared to eat any of the things I just mentioned for fear that I will gain everything back. I am eating things like boiled eggs, apples w/ peanut butter, salads with meat in them, and I haven't really counted how many calories I am eating. I am 5'3" at a 180 pounds. I am doing 45 min of cardio (walking and running intervals) I am still fitting the size I was when I stop the diet but I don't know where to go from here. Been excercising for 2 weeks now and nothing has happened... I will appreciate any help, thanks!
That's one of the bad things about strict diets; if you ever go off them, most people gain back most, if not all, the weight they lost.
I agree that you should not eat refined sugar or flour products, white rice; however, white potatoes are an excellent source of potassium. A small baked potato with the skin has more potassium that almost any other food. The bad part of a baked potato is that we usually smother it with butter and sour cream!!
Calories/day is calculated by age, height, weight and I don't know your age, so I used 35 (sorry if you aren't that old). That comes out to between 1450 to 1950 calories/day.
Boiled eggs are an excellent source of protein, as is the meat in your salads. Apples are great for filling you up and the peanut butter has both protein and good fat. Make sure you eat plenty of raw or steamed veggies. Whole grains are good sources of fiber; nuts and seeds have protein, good fats, vitamins/minerals. Just make sure you watch your portion sizes and don't let yourself get too hungry, as that increases the chances of binging.
You may need to change your exercise and diet on a regular basis. If you do the same thing(s) continuously, your body becomes used to it and it's no longer a challenge. By the same token, if you don't eat enough calories, your body will think there won't be enough food and will begin to preserve the fat that's there.
Please don't give up. You can get this worked out and we will help all we can.
Don't give up = I am involved with the Releana hCG program and can promise you that committment and dedication will get the lbs off. You have to be strong and do not cheat. We all eat for 3 reasons...habit, emotions and bordem. We are not hungry or starving as we have enough fat in our body to supply us with the amount we need for our daily activities. Remember you must drink 80 oz of water every day and have regular bowel movements this is key. Also eat your 2 fruits per day and 3 1/2 oz of protein and 3 1/2 oz if veg two times a day. You may have 2 diet pops per day. any spices, no sauces, no carbs, no fats or no sugars. Be accountable to someone and they will help you stay strong and stay motivated. Weigh yourself every day and measure yourself to follow your success. Not recommended to exercise while on the hcg diet other than a nice 30 minute stroll in the evening. If you find your self with headaches, no energy level alittle dizzy at times you will want to increase your protein for 24-48 hrs by 2 ounces. and then go back to the regular recommended ammount of 3 1/2 ounces per serving. Don't give up and YOU make the decision that YOU CAN DO THIS. I am proof that it can and will change everything about your life to the better!!!
