I eat a lot of peanut butter and raw nuts like walnuts and almonds those are proteins right?? I need to investigate this more but so far its working well and Im eating way more fruit and veggies than normal..I dont want to become anemic but I think dark green veggies have iron....
Cherie,
I agree. You might want to talk to people who have been on these types of diet. Perhaps I didn't read correctly but you do not mention protein? I hope you are getting balanced nutrition, just for your own health and well being. Good Luck and keep us posted.
thanks Im gonna look that up ...good info.
Correction, Swampy's Guide to Vegetarianism is on the health pages attached to the Healthy Cooking community.
Good luck Cherie! You might want to talk to Swampcritter who is vegetarian and Peakawho who has been. They will have some good advice and I believe Swampy has even put some info on the health pages for this forum.
That's exciting when your clothes start fitting better!
I'm sure someone will come along here who knows a thing or two about a vegetarian diet, too. Calcium supplements after 40 are a good idea anyway, so your doctor will probably tell you to go ahead. There are some that are better than others - like way better. The one called Caltrate and another one that's along the same lines are good. They are absorbed better (supposedly).
thanks you Im not gonna weigh myself much in the beginning that discourages me...all I know is my pants used to be tight at the waist and now they arent ,,,,so Im gonna keep on with it will ask dr about calcium supplements next time I see him...
Oh, hi Cherie, and WELCOME! I admire anyone who embarks on a healthier eating regimen. Unfortunately, I know nothing about a vegetarian diet and wouldn't want to pretend to know! You can believe someone will. Hang tight, you came to the right place.
Congratulations on your success so far, and you've done it with challenges - so good for you!
Keep reading posts; keep responding to posts. Keep comin' back for more! So glad to have you!
