You’re Going DOWN…

…several sizes!

My husband and I recently started a Weight Loss Challenge to motivate us to lose weight. It really started off as a joke but as we started talking about it we both got really excited and pumped. I realized that part of the motivation on BL and other weight loss programs is MONEY (just one of many reasons the contestants try to lose weight).

***Since my husband has an L5 disc problem in his back he cannot workout. So that is why we both have the same weight goal. Since men lose faster than women many people have told me that wasn't fair, but really it is!***

So I encourage you to find a friend or partner. You could put whatever you want into "your pot". Ours is money and whoever wins gets the money to buy new clothes for their new shape! You can't get in on OUR contest but you can totally create your own! Here is what we've got going on and you can tailor it to fit YOUR needs:

OBJECTIVE:
First person to lose 50 lbs wins grand prize
Second person to lose 50 lbs will win consolation prize

Grand Prize-  money from pot* toward what they wish
Consolation Prize- $50 to spend on clothes

*Each pound lost adds $1 to the pot

GUIDELINES:
1.Portion control! One serving, no seconds!
2.More fruits and vegetables
3.Water (drop the soda, tea, coffee, etc.)
4.No starvation- must eat 3 meals a day
5.Exercise as able, at least 5 days a week
6.Make healthier choices (yogurt, cottage cheese instead of mac-n-cheese)

BONUS:
1.No fast food in a given week by will earn $10 bonus to the pot
2.No fast food in a month will add an extra $10 on top of the $10 per week for a total of $50
3.No dessert a day adds $.50 to the pot

♥ We have penalties, too, but I did not list them here. ♥

HAPPY WEIGHT LOSS!

Hey!  I just love your challenge!  What an awesome way for you to motivate each other!

Been trying to work on my family, but for the most part....the health benefits that they derrive are incognito.  I do things like mix fresh spinach in the salad greens and use ground turkey instead of ground beef.  Not so sure if they would elect to do healthy stuff on their own.  ; )

My daughter recently joined the rec center where I workout, so I will have a workout buddy at least on the weekends, which will mean that I have to add a day to my regimen, but that's okay.  Now to work on hubby and my son.  ; )  I think that it would help to add the monetary component...but that won't fit the budget right now, so I guess that I will have to come up with something else for the two of them.

My family is doing a similar thing. We all put $10 dollars into a pot (there are 5 of us) and we all are working out and eating healthy. We weigh in on February 8th, and the winner takes all. =) It's quite a nice idea, and it's really motivating my family to workout. I'm quite proud of them all! I wish we could eat a bit healthier, but we're doing really well at the moment though.

I like your plan though, it covers a lot and makes it more appealing! be sure to update us on how it goes! I would love to hear the outcome! I'm tempted to dump ours and ask to join yours! haha

Oops- we changed "No dessert a day adds $.50" to "No dessert a WEEK adds a dollar" because that was more challenging. We're constantly changing up the rules to make it more challenging. GOOD LUCK if you decide to do your own challenge!
