So, for me, I can go day to day and be hopeful the next will be better as evidenced by this week. LOL
Monday was terrible for the plan. Not sure why but was just pawing the frig all day. And then had a lot going on and all evening was absolutely running one kid to the next thing and then the other so that I never got my walk in. Was bummed. So ate in a less controlled manner and did not exercise. Not a good day.
Yesterday was much better. Healthy eating all day. Did my exercise class AND walked at night with doggie.
Today is a snow day (we didn't really get snow but had an ice storm with a light snow over it) with kids. Which means I'm at home unable to go to the gym and outside is iffy for exercise (don't want to roll an ankle on the ice). But I'm going to turn on music and do something inside. for 30 minutes. And I have a salad all set to go in the frig. And dinner is planned too so it will be a good day to stay on the plan regardless of weather intrusion. Right? ha, let's hope
So, what am I going to do this week? Add in a little extra sleep. I get busy and forget that I really do need to plan adequate sleep times which means I have to switch things off (like the tv, the lights and my book). But this will give me more energy for the rest of what I need/want to do.
I've been slipping up. It's been cold and bad weather here and my usual long walks outside have either cut down to a small walk or been missed entirely. I need a new plan on my walk days. Today is a walk day. Not sure yet if I'll don the boots and head out or if I'll hit the treadmill at the Y or do something in the house. I should have a plan already. Grrrr. But my goal is to make it happen for 45 minutes whatever it is. I'll let you know.
AND, my son had the word cordial in a long sentence that he had to infer something from for an language arts assignment. He asked my husband a question and I heard my husband say "mom can tell you what cordials are. She as a cherry cordial stash . . .". Crud! He knows that I bought all the Queen Anne cheery cordials on sale after Christmas that I could find and eat a couple every day. Love those things. But literally, I've eaten them every day since about December 27. (must not be a favorite of a lot of people because I got about 12 boxes for a dollar each . . . that's a lot of cherries in my possession!). So, I'm going to deny myself the cherry this week (until Saturday! That's my treat day).
That's my plan.
Yes, every week (no, every day) is a new chance. We always have the opportunity to turn things around, if we don't like the way they're going. As old as I am, this is something I'm just learning...
What am I going to do this week to live a healthier life? I'm going to get out, enjoy myself and be nice to me. That's where we have to start - being as nice to ourselves as we'd be to others...
I view every day a new chance to get healthy and stay on track. I appreciate every day that God gives me.
