That was very well put.
Blake101 - I believe that *I* am the person twehner was referring who takes B12 shots because of pernicious anemia. She is absolutely right in what she said about them.
Her advice is very sound. Now *I'VE* got to go get my shot.
Well done "twehner5", i don't think anyone could have put it better and i'm sure we all agree with every word. You can do it "Melssa", we are all behind you. Go Go Go....
Actually, if you DRINK enough water and go back to exercising *no less than* 3 to 4 times a week for 1.5 hours, you would probably lose weight - AND THAT'S FREE ! You don't really need to exercise for 1.5 hours every time you exercise. I was just trying to point out that you probably lost that 35 pounds before MORE because of YOUR EFFORT (YAY, YOU !) than because of the water pill (can be VERY dangerous !) OR the B12 shot. There is a lady on this forum who HAS to take B12 injections for pernicious anemia. B12 SHOTS DO *NOT* CAUSE WEIGHT LOSS! They "might" give you the energy TO exercise, but don't waste too much money if you don't need it for health reasons....and if you are promised and are expecting weight loss.
I used to feel like "I just needed a boost, or a push, or something to get me started", etc. to begin *my* weight-loss. But 3 years ago I decided, "NO MORE !" I decided I would NOT diet - because once I would go back to "normal" eating, I'd gain it back anyway. I decided I'd NOT buy any "weight-loss enhancers" - because, again, once I QUIT taking them, I gain back all the weight I lose... How discouraging is THAT?
Oh, you should know about me that I've been on Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, the cabbage soup diet, the supposed 3-day "cardiac" diet from the Mayo clinic, Atkins, Sugar Busters, and more....do you get the picture? After EVERY ONE of those diets - NOT MOST OF THEM (!), I gained back EVERY OUNCE I lost.
So, that's why 3 years ago, I decided to lost weight just eating "real, normal" food. It worked. I lost 70 pounds in 9 months and I was 42 years at the time started this journey. I won't say I haven't had a few "back-slides", but NOT LIKE BEFORE! I'm, right now, at just over 2 years since I hit my lowest weight, 6 pounds OVER that goal weight. HUH ! That's the MOST success I've ever had. AND, IT DIDN'T COST ME A DIME !
I wish you good luck in what you decide to do, but actually, it isn't luck at all. It is patience, perseverance, and I am (ph)inally (LOL!) I'm figuring out now, the camaraderie of "a few good CYBER friends!"
