Here are some of my favorite, easy breakfasts. Each provides a good balance of healthy carbs, fats, protein, and fiber. Don't skip breakfast! There's no excuse if you keep the ingredients on hand, and get up a couple minutes early.
1. 1 cup fat free cottage cheese with 1/2 cup diced fruit of choice.
2. 1/2 cup oatmeal made with 3/4 cup skim milk, 1 small cubed apple and 5 chopped nut pieces mixed in.
3. 1 cup shredded wheat cereal with 1/2-3/4 cup skim milk, sliced banana
4. 1 sliced, toasted Thomas's Lt. Multigrain Eng muffin with 1/2 cup scrambled egg beaters (made into a sandwich)
5. Smoothie: mix 1 cup skim milk with 1 banana and 1/3 cup fat free vanilla yogurt. Add a packet of splenda if you must. I often add a scoop of protein powder to this.
