I am on metformin and yes I am insulin resistant. I had my thyroid bloodtest and that came back normal. I have seen the dr a few times but have not been given any antiDiarrheal meds
I know I have another post but figured I needed to give note info.
I just realized that you had another thread started, and that some of the members have already given some good advice. Hopefully, with what they posted on your other thread and what I posted above, you will be able to make a start at your weight loss.
I am very sorry for the loss of your baby; that has to be very traumatic, and the depression is understandable.
We aren't here to judge you; we are here to help each other and no one will be mean to you - if they are, they have to contend with me....... We will be honest, though, and sometimes, the truth might sound mean.
I don't like to answer questions, with more questions, but sometimes, there's no good answer without further information.
Are you on an medication for the PCOS? Sometimes doctors prescribe metformin for it.
Have you been tested for insulin resistance? This sometimes, goes along with PCOS.
Have you ever had your thyroid tested? Hypothyroidism often fits in with PCOS and insulin resistance; IBS is sometimes seen as a symptom hypothyroidism. Some people with celiac disease have IBS symptoms. Stress can make IBS much worse, and you have had your share of stress. Has your doctor prescribed any type of antidiarrheal medication?
Depression can make it harder to get pregnant; I had that in my younger years, along with difficulty getting pregnant. Have you considered some counseling to help deal with the loss of your baby?
The bottom line for weight loss is to use more calories than you take in; at least, that's what I'm told. I have Hashimoto's/hypothyroidism and before my diagnosis, I could gain 10 pounds without eating a bite!! Now that I'm on medication and my thyroid levels are good, I can lose weight -- but I'm not one of the lucky ones, for whom it just "falls" off, so I do have to work at it.
So we can do this, one step at a time, huh? You can answer my questions, then I'll try to come up with more info and probably more questions as well, but we can work through this together.
In the meantime, start getting some regular exercise (low impact, of course) every day to start building yourself back up. If you can, get the treadmill fixed or start a short daily walk. I know it's still winter in MI, so you'll have to put on warm clothes, but make it so you have to "work" a bit to stay warm; this will help burn more fat. You might also look into trying yoga, which is very low impact and very relaxing.
A little information on myself - I get up for work every day at 3:30 am; therefore, I go to bed VERY early (7:00-7:30), and because I'm at work all day, I'm off line a lot, so if I don't answer you right away, don't despair; I pop in every chance I get........ there are also others on the forum who have great information and I'm sure someone else will chime in.
