You are simply Amazing!!! What strength you have inside and it is wonderful to see you grow with newfound self and determination.
May I suggest that the next time you go to Azteca .. you may want to consider the chicken fajitas. The grilled chicken, green peppers and onions are healthy and I usually order a to go container at the time my meal is delivered and split the entire meal in half straight away. Then, I eat the remainder slowly and enjoy it, without guilt. I do steer clear of the guacamole and sour cream .. and I allow myself 6 chips with salsa and then stop. It is called intuitive eating .. eating a little to satisfy the craving or desire and then stopping. Did you know that any craving is satisfied in 2-3 bites?
The challenge starts today and we'll be making posts in the next couple of hours. There will also be a live chat on Tuesday .. hope to see you!
So thrilled to have you here and I'm going to have to tried the smoked paprika and cabbage .. sounds great!

wow... I am truly stunned at all of the info I got from everyone!! I will have to spend some time tomorrow setting up this tracker as you call it?? K...I am motivated now! Today I went to church at 10 and was STARVING by the time I got home around one...my parents of course always love going out to eat on sundays.sooooo....they took my sister and I to Azteca.....here is where the test and challenge comes in...I'm sitting at the table...looking at ALL the new holiday things on the menu...gingerbread drinks and shakes and all...oh my gosh....i'm going crazy...I want to order a soda..my sister orders a root beer...everyone else has wine....and then when the waiter comes to me I am barely able to squeeze out the following sentence..."I"ll just have a water with lemon"...but...I did it. Then I ordered the taco salad which i ate about half of and was not as satisfied as I 'd hoped...BUT..I was full for the first time in days. Then tonight I had some steamed chopped cabbage with smoked paprika flavoring, pepper, and i know it sounds wierd but a touch of ketchup. And that was it. so now i'm starving as i type this but i'm determined to go to bed with nothing else. I'm going to get on tomorrow and try this whole thing you all mentioned...some group meeting?? and a tracker? You guys are SOOOO awesome!! I"m soo happy i found you!!! hugs!! Joe
twehner5 - You are always a sparkling addition and add encouragement and sunshine along with much welcome advice .. that is when I don't run on and on writing a novel .. lolll
Joannasgoal - The people of this community, are absolutely awesome in their knowledge, support and encouragement. They keep me motivated daily.
By the way, 9lbs in one month??? Way to go! That's just about perfect. No more, no less.
Who can add to what Ranae an Skailark said. They are (as usual), right on the money. Stay here for comraderie and encouragement. You don't have to do this alone - in fact, people are much more successful if they DON'T do it alone.
Keep up the good work!
Welcome to the Weight Loss & Dieting Community and thank you for asking your question. Skailark has provided you with the advice I would give with the 3 small meals and 3 snacks, staying tuned in to the group, implementing your trackers, calculating your BMR and exercising. Let me see if I can help you a little further with some food ideas to keep your energy up.
Protein helps sustain you and keeps you feeling full longer. When you are craving the carbs and sugar, let your brain win the arguement and eat protein. A hard boiled egg, a chicken breast, deli sliced turkey or chicken, a protein shake, cereal and milk (make a protein), a serving of beans .. things like that.
Before you exercise, eat a piece of fruit like a banana or an apple to give you that energy boost before you work out. You can recoup after the exercise with a protein snack or a well balanced small meal.
Remember, it is just as important to eat enough calories .. if you eat too few, your body will go into self preservation mode and hold on to the weight. That is why it is important to calculate your BMR and calculate from there the calories you will need to consume to stay healthy and lose weight, while not entering a plateau.
You may want to try something like this ...
Breakfast .. cereal and milk with fruit or oatmeal and milk or eggs, toast and small piece of bacon
Snack .. yogurt, fruit, vegetable, protein bar, hard boiled egg
Lunch .. soup and salad (watch the dressing .. try Paul Neumann low calorie ones) .. or frozen meal between 250-330 calories or chicken breast, vegetable and 1/2 c rice or 6 inch Subway
Snack .. vegetable, fruit, yogurt, protein bar, whole grain crackers and 1 slice skinny cheese (only if not a trigger food), a few nuts, SF jello
Dinner .. broiled or baked fish, chicken or turkey, squash, green beans or vegetable, salad or baked potato or whole grain rice (watch the toppings)
Snack .. SF popsickles, SF pudding, 100-calorie popcorn, fruit, vegetable, protein
We start a 2 week challenge tomorrow and would love to have you join in .. we offer then periodically to keep us in tune and working on our goals in a joint effort. There will be one at Christmas time and a big one to jump start the New Year.
Hope to see you there and very best wishes .. you CAN do this!

Hi!
The recommended weight loss is 2 pounds a week...But if you push yourslef then may be you can lose 10 pounds..but if you are aiming for 20 pounds then you shud give atleast 10 weeks time to achieve that goal.
The normal eating pattern wud be to have 3 small healthy meals and 3 small snacks through out the day and be active. Exercsing is also very important as it helps to burn off excess caloires.
We all make exercise pledges every monday for the week and so be sure to include your work out plan in the thread. If you donot know what exercsie to follow just replicate one of us and follow a routine.
In order to correctly calculate how much your BMR is i will have to know your age and height so i can come up with the correct amount of calories for you to consume and how much you shud be burning in order to achieve your goals.
I assume you have already added the weight tracker, exercise tracke and the mood tracker to your profile. If you havent done this i recommend you do this straight away.
These trackers can help us in setting goals and logging our exercsie.
So let me know of the information I requested and I know you can do this!
We are all here and ready to cherrlead you!
you should never try lose weight because someone else hopes you can. thats terrible!
