Sunday Weigh In - July 30, 2011

I'm late again this morning - hey, it's Sunday and I slept in....... LOL   I'm also on the run, so this is going to short.

We've made it through another week and it's time to post our progress.  I hope everyone has done well.

I had a pretty stressful week, so am down 2 pounds, from 148 to 146.  Hey, a loss is a loss, right??  I hope I can keep it off over the coming week and maybe take off another pound or two......  I'm still walking as much as I can at work, but it's SO hot, it's hard to keep going.  I've only got 2 more weeks of 10 hr work days left, and once those are over, I'm hoping to get back into an exercise routine.

I've only 10 more weeks to work before retirement --- yoohoo!!!

Hope everyone has had a good week and wishing you an even better one, coming up.

Don't forget to "win by losing".......

I couldn't agree more about losing weight slowly !

I lost over 65 pounds starting in July of '07 and it took me 9 months and this is the first "big" weight loss that I have kept off for the long haul.  Like many folks on here, I have tried (and SUCCEEDED, I might add !) every diet known to womankind !  In the past, I have never made it past a year or a year-and-a-half of keeping the weight off.

I believe THIS time was different, though, because I did NOT diet AND, I lost the weight with both diet AND exercise AND I lost the weight slowly.

I have 10 pounds now to take off NOW because my "bad knee" is at it's worst and my workout intensity is NOT what it used to be.  In fact, I was scheduled to have a total knee replacement this past Thursday, but it was canceled :(

Losing is much harder, however, because I would MUCH rather lose by exercising.  I do *NOT* believe in "dieting," lol.  I did not diet to lose the last time and I am fighting like crazy to lose with exercise again.

Good luck to you and HANG IN THERE !  Studies have shown that people who have a support group do MUCH better than "lone rangers."  Stick around !

Looks like I will be down 2 pounds for the month of July.  Have been hovering between 191 and 192 all week.   Maybe August will be more a more productive month, if the humidity ever goes away.  A comforting thought - my PA told me at my med checkup last week that it's not a bad thing to be losing so slowly because people who lose weight slowly tend to keep it off, so not to get discouraged.  Hope that offers a little encouragement to someone else who is in the same boat that I am.

I was up 2 pounds today.  Normally I would beel terribly discouraged about that, however I was recently out of town for 12 days and before that I had company for 3 weeks.  I also have no AC in my house and it is currently up to 87 in here and I honestly believe I am retaining water.

I am walking over an hour around 5:30 in the mornings and going to the Y most weekdays, so we'll see if I can make any progress in the weight loss department.
