Cherie,

I agree. You might want to talk to people who have been on these types of diet. Perhaps I didn't read correctly but you do not mention protein? I hope you are getting balanced nutrition, just for your own health and well being. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Good luck Cherie!  You might want to talk to Swampcritter who is vegetarian and Peakawho who has been.  They will have some good advice and I believe Swampy has even put some info on the health pages for this forum.

That's exciting when your clothes start fitting better!

I'm sure someone will come along here who knows a thing or two about a vegetarian diet, too.  Calcium supplements after 40 are a good idea anyway, so your doctor will probably tell you to go ahead.  There are some that are better than others - like way better.  The one called Caltrate and another one that's along the same lines are good.  They are absorbed better (supposedly).

Oh, hi Cherie, and WELCOME!  I admire anyone who embarks on a healthier eating regimen.  Unfortunately, I know nothing about a vegetarian diet and wouldn't want to pretend to know!  You can believe someone will.  Hang tight, you came to the right place.

Congratulations on your success so far, and you've done it with challenges - so good for you!

Keep reading posts; keep responding to posts.  Keep comin' back for more!  So glad to have you!
