dieting

i know that orange juice has a lot of sugar, but because it's orange juice, is it not a healthy drink?
i love orange juice.  if it's not, then i'll have to stop drinking it, but it will be difficult.  i've only been dieting for two weeks, now.  i weighed 230 lbs, when i started.  i'm only 5'4".  i'd like to lose 65 -70 lbs.  i'm running every weekday and doing push-ups and sit-ups, everyday.  also, i'm doing a good job of eating healthy. no fried foods.  no pizza or burgers.  i am just curious to know if it's ok to drink orange juice.  hopefully, once i lose weight, i will be attractive to wife, again.

Hi.  Juice has natural sugars so it is healthier for you than refined sugars added to soft drinks. However, if you want to lose weight, you need to watch the juice intake because it has lots of calories.  Plain water is the absolute best.  If you want to add a little flavor to the water, add a splash or two of juice (cranberry is great).  If you add a little to the water, you might want to just have your one cup of juice a day divided this way.  Water is the #1 best thing to drink. Diet pop is the absolute worst.  Even regular pop and alcohol aren't as bad.  So just stay away from the diet pop.  People think it's okay because it has zero calories, but the sugars and whatever else they put in it are really bad for you.  Water will help flush out toxins, lose weight, and reduce overeating. This is one way I lost the weight after having my child, I drank a  full glass of water  before each meal, and one glass during. I could sometimes even have glass afterwards.
Good luck with your diet, but keep in mind that most things in MODERATION are fine.  If you deny a craving, you will just overeat something else to compensate, and there goes the diet.  If you have a sweet craving, try something like a piece of licorice.

The trouble with orange juice, is that it is high in natural sugars, won't fill you up very much, and has almost no fiber.  Its very easy to overdo it with juice.

One glass, ok.  More than that, you may have trouble.  Try to get your fruits by eating the whole fruit.  Its packed with nutrients that are not present in the juice to any significant amount.
