plateau

Ive been trying to lose weight for roughly two months now. I have managed to go from 163 to 156 in the first month and my second month I have managed to maintain. I am trying to lose another 8 lbs before september. I am currentl on a diet that consists of 1200 calories a day. I do an exercise class once a week and I also walk about 5 times a week for 45 minutes. Ive been trying to rotate my sleeping pattern so i can wake up earlier and actually start my day with a decent breakfast. but so far Ive been tired and Im not losing the weight. Does anyone have any suggestions? once I get past 155 Im sure the weight will fall off again. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

honestly I had a pretty rough week and didnt eat much and exercised a lot to deal with stress. not the best way but it seemed to work.

Maybe you need to change your routine some.  If you continuously do the same exercises or eat the same amounts of food, your body becomes used to it; exercise is no longer a challenge and your body now knows that the calories will be there.

Try changing your exercise to challenge your muscles more - maybe walk faster, try a resistance band, even swinging your arms more, interval walking, etc - any type of change.

For the calories - try increasing by a couple hundred calories for a couple days, then drop back to your 1200 calories for the next couple of days, then maybe back to 1000.  You don't have to do it exactly the way I put it, but at least try to vary your calories regularly.

I know, plateau's can rally get you down. I think it is because your metabolism adjusts and slows down to save energy. What helps me in plateau weeks is cinnamon ( in the morning over breakfast cereal) to kick start metabolism. In addition I take cayenne pepper capsules (1 with every meal) its really just cayenne pepper in a capsule. nothing else. although i like medium spicy food, I could not eat too hot...lol.
of course you could just eat really spicy food.
Te idea is that those spices help to get your metabolism back into gear.
It did the trick with me. give it a shot, only spices...
Good luck,
