Flagyl is normally used to treat BV and Macrobid is normally used to treat bladder infections and UTIs and fluconazole is used to treat yeast infections commonly known as oral diflucan
I understand your pain I feel as though I end up with one every month I've even went as far to brew peppermint tea and make a nice douche with that it helps with the smell the celestial seasons work best one bag peppermint and one bag chamomile nice combination plus also use providine iodine to make your own douche and use only vinegar n water and not more than couple tyms a month and also if your so doesn't ejaculate inside you or uses condoms you can probably go longer in between tyms getting it well good luck
I forgot to add this, my Fiances Daughter bought me a tube of Nirena. That is a naturally made cream for the prevention of BV and Yeast infection. It helps to keep the vaginal PH healthy. You can purchase it online.
Seems like you covered all the medical and over the counter prescriptions. I had a nasty case of BV and the Dr gave me Macrobid and it cleared it up. Thats by prescrirtion only . As for the yeast infection they have a pill called Flagyl its extermely potent and will kill the yeast infection. The monostat in my opinion don't help too much. Also my Dr told me its not recommended to have sex during BV and yeast infection . IT can be transmitted to your male partner if you use a condom and it breaks.
Hi I looked up this problem using google and found that a product called balance activ (vaginal gel) it's a natural product that is supposed to be very good for b.v and restore normal ph & vaginal flora. available in u.k. For about £10 for a weeks supply.Good luck.
The bacterial flora that characterizes BV have been recovered from the endometria and salpinges of women who have PID. BV has been associated with endometritis, PID, and vaginal cuff cellulitis after invasive procedures, including endometrial biopsy, hysterectomy, hysterosalpingography, placement of an IUD, cesarean section, and uterine curettage.
Have you ruled out the above.
Allergy or Intolerance to the Recommended Therapy:
Intravaginal clindamycin cream is preferred in case of allergy or intolerance to metronidazole. Intravaginal metronidazole gel can be considered for patients who do not tolerate systemic metronidazole, but patients allergic to oral metron-idazole should not be administered intravaginal metronidazole.
I do not know what pills you are on but If you have an allergy or intolerance to metronidazole then the insurance company would most likely place you on Intravaginal clindamycin cream.
