No it is not, it could be a sign of Endometriosis.

Please read my journals or message me if you have any questions or even Google Endometriosis to see if you have those symptoms.

Painful periods is NOT normal no matter what anyone says.

Hi Thwana,

Just read your comments. I would suggest making an appointment with
your family doctor. You asked if it's natural. To be honest, I'm menopausal
now, but when I had my periods , the majority of them very very painful.
So painful, I always had to take prescription medicine to combat the pain.
I think it's important that you have the opportunity to discuss these things
with your family doctor initially. Your family doctor may give you a
referral to a gynecologist if need be. Depending on how severe your
menstral pain is, the cause of your severe period pains need to be discovered incase it is some kind of endometriosis or fibroid. Good luck
in getting some answers and more importantly, some relief from your
painful menstral cramps. Be well. Eve  ( my nickname is evewisewoman
on the Medhelp site).

It would be worthwhile to check with an ob-gyn.  It might be simply cramping, or might be some kind of endometriosis or a fibroid.
