Bowel movement

I'm using birth control (the patch) and today when I had bowel movement it was red, like the color of blood. At first I wasn't concerned because I figure it was some red chips I had earlier today, but before I used the bathroom the second time my stomach started hurting and that's when I noticed the blood looking color. Should I be worried?

Usually if it's come from somewhere in your intestines, the blood and stool are darker.  If it's bright red and just the external parts (not mixed in with the stool), you may just have an internal hemorrhoid.  If the entire stool is that bright red color, get to a doctor as soon as possible.  Changes in stool color are not something to ignore!

What if by tomorrow it isn't red anymore? When I took a look the second time it was with the stool and it was a bright red. Then the third time like the whole water was a bright red. It looked like I was on my period.
