Bromocriptine (Parlodel)

Hi, I have been having irregular periods for a very long time and presently placed on Bromocriptine by my gynee in September.  My first period came on the 20th of September and am yet to have another although am still taking the drugs for this month.  Am just very worried because I thought its almost the end of the month and my period is yet to come.  I was excited after the first period and thought the drug was so effective but now worried about the skip.  Please is there anyone who has experienced this?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It is true that bromocriptine if used for irregular periods caused by pituitary problems, but the cause for irregular period needs to be found out for which I suggest you to get a hormonal profile and other investigations like your thyroid levels and ultrasound done from a gynecologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
