Can ECP start losing its effects when used regularly? Gas feeling in lower abdomen.

I've been using ECP regularly (every month) after intercourse (which we only do once a month) but am not really on the pill. The "take 4 pills and then take 4 more after 12 hrs later one"? That's the one. So its been a week now since we last had intercourse and I started getting these gassy feelings in my lower abdomen like airs being pumped into it. And the specifically yesterday it started hurting like menstrual cramps but with no blood. I burp more often (it's not something new but there's definitely been more recently) and fart a lot too. I don't know if Im pregnant or not because I'm already having white menstruations (which I always have before getting my period), but not seem to have tender breasts. The presence of both usually reassures me but now with the absence of one Im getting a little paranoid. My periods usually due around 18 onward's and it's already 21. Am I just late? or has something gone terribly wrong down there because of the pills? Thank you for any information. I have tried google searches and have come up with nothing definitive on this condition.
