7 weeks postpartum period...unusal. Help.

So I've started my period 7 weeks postpartum. The odd thing is though, is it's been brown and not just when it's dried on my pantiliner. I've only just now seen very light pink blood 4 days since the brown has started. I've had off and on mild cramps.
Could it just be the old blood from my lochia coming out and preparing for my period to start?

I'm exclusively breast feeding estimated every 2 hours or so. I don't know why I'd be getting my period so soon.

Has anyone gone through this or is going through this? How was your first period post part I'm like?

Everyone bleeds after lochia, whether the birth was vaginal or by Caesarean section, it's how your body gets rid of the lining of you uterus. The blood may come out in gushes, or flow more evenly, similar to a heavy period. The bleeding will change colour and become lighter as your uterus heals and returns to its pre-pregnancy size. At first, the flow of lochia will be heavy and bright red, and may have clots in it. Gradually, it will change to pink then brown, and eventually to yellow-white. You may bleed for as little as two weeks to six. However, if you are at all worried please consult your doctor right away.
