Can something get lodged in cervical canal?

A week ago I started experiencing symptoms like a yeast infection, so I used the garlic remedy and inserted a clove into my vagina. When I went to remove it, I couldn’t find it anywhere. I searched for days and couldn’t find it anywhere. I week later I started having pelvic pain, back pain, headaches, and vaginal discharge. I went to the emergency room and explained the garlic situation. They performed an ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound, pelvic exam, and Pap smear. When the doctor handed the nurse the swap from the pap the nurse goes “that smells like garlic!” and the doctor assured that’s just what bacterial vagnosis smells like. He diagnosed me with bacterial vaginosis and put me on metro.

My question is, could the garlic clove have gotten lodged in my cervical canal? The doctor said he didn’t see anything. But I thought BV was supposed to smell fishy, not garlicky? I’m scared that he missed something and there’s a clove of garlic just sitting in there festering...

Well, BV just smells and I wouldn't say it smells fishy.  It's just foul.  And anything left in your vagina like garlic after a bit of time probably is going to have a bad stink.  Let alone that it is garlic and which has it's own odor to add to the stink of sitting in an airless, dark canal for however long it was in there.  They never found that garlic clove?  I'm not a fan of that 'remedy' personally.  Women tend to lose the garlic like you did which is a whole new problem.  If it somehow got lodged or stuck, the gyn has the tools to easily remove it.  Did you tell them you never got the garlic out?  I guess they just said they didn't see anything and washed their hands of it.  ??  I would take the antibiotic. If you still have issues, then go back and tell them YOU never saw the garlic come out and they need to look again for it.  That's about all you can do unless you want to go for another appointment. But go to your regular doctor and not the ER this time as they will take more care of you as ER's handle things in such a way to just move you out rather than providing for your total care.  good luck

I explained to the doc and the nurse explained to the doc about not finding the garlic. He didn’t seem that concerned. When he was doing my pelvic exam I asked if he saw anything and he said no. He swabbed my cervix but he didn’t go digging around in there like I was expecting. I don’t know if there’s even enough room in there for anything to get lodged but now I’m wondering after the nurse said he swabbed smelled like garlic.
