Cause for concern?

Hi,
My period is 7 days late as of today, I took a pregnancy test last night and it was negative. I've never been this late for my period in the past and I'm 39 years old. Since the test came out negative do you think there could be a problem I should have checked out?
Thanks

Thank for the advice. My period ended up coming this evening *sigh*.  I've been ttc and inside I was so hoping this was it.... I'll keep on trying!

Sometimes tests can be falsely negative. If you have had unprotected sex and pregnancy could have occurred I would give it another week and if still nothing either retest yourself or go to the doctors to have a blood test for it and a once over. Sometimes worrying over things can delay it more. Good luck
