Yes, totally agree that it is not good for you and should never be done.  It causes all sorts of 'other' issues.  Do not douche.  good luck

It's highly unrecommended to douche.  You are killing off the bad bacteria with the good bacteria.  This allows certain bacteria to overgrow, which causes infections.

It's not recommended.  Ever.  At least according to all of the healthcare providers and reputable women's health sites I've ever seen.  Perfumed douches are especially a no-no, as they can be irritating.

In general, the vagina is a self-cleaning organ with a delicate pH balance that's best left alone.  Vaginas also have a natural smell, and it's a bad idea to try to cover it with perfume.  If there's a foul smell, there's something wrong, and you might need medical treatment, but douching is not the treatment for any of those (although yeast infections may be treated with suppositories).  If there's a bad smell without weird discharge or discomfort, it's probably external and you just need to wash a little better on the outside with a nice, gentle, fragrance-free soap.

It is safe but should only be done occasionally. Douching too much can push bacteria farther up inside and cause infections and it kills off the good bacteria in the vagina. Best wishes,Sissie
