Drugs during pregnantcy

Hi I am trying to get information for a friend of mine who is too scared to come forward and do this herself. Before she got pregnant she had started using meth for a couple of months and didn't stop until she knew she was pregnant. Another friend told her that meth stays in the babies system and shows up after birth. I have tried to look this stuff up on my own but can find little to no information on it. She is scared her baby will be taken away so any help I can provide would be great.

It is very hard to find free info on this online. I want to say that marijuana can be detected if used 20 weeks prior to birth, since meth stays in your body for a shorter amount of time, as long as she has stopped and doesn't use again she should be fine. Also hospitals wont drug test a baby unless they feel it is necessary (they think  the mom is a junkie). I do think that your friend should also consider some drug counseling as meth is a highly addictive substance. I am very scared for this baby that your friend may relapse.
