Herpes or Group B Strep? or both? or somethign else?

10 years ago, I was 18, I came down with what I thought was a terrible flu, high fever, extremely achy lower back, weak, the bumps below and then the blisters on the outside of the vagina. They were so painful I could barely walk. Of course I went to emergency and they took a swab of one of the 3 or so blisters. The hospital sent me on my way with no meds, nothing at all. I couldn't wait so the following day or two later I went to the gyno and she looked and said yep herpes! I was devastated!!! I couldn't understand. This was only my second serious relationship and as far as I knew my current boyfriend of 2 years didn't have anything. We ruled it to oral herpes. We figured he might have had a cold sore starting and performed oral sex and that's how I got it. None the less, I was prescribed Valtrex and it seemed to clear it up. I then got a call back from the hospital a week later and they confirmed it was herpes based on the swab.
I've now been with a new partner, since the last, now for 8 years. We obviously have unprotected sex, we have two children together. Yes he is aware of the herpes. He hasn't caught anything till this day.
So since that very first "outbreak" with the "blisters" almost 10 years ago, I've always gotten these paper cut like lesions around my vaginal opening in the creases, like what alot of you have been describing. In addition, to these lesions, redness and sensitivity, sometimes mild itchiness and soreness. These symptoms tend to flair up with stress or soon after intercourse.
Up until 3 years ago, while pregnant with my first, I learnt that I carry the Group B Step bacteria. My gyno brushed it off, informed me alot of women are carriers, not to worry,  and right before delivery they'd give me some meds and haven't thought of the Group B Strep since then. Well I am currently taking a 10 day treatment of penicillin for a Group B Strep infection. I went in to visit my Doc last week. She swabbed me cause I had creamy discharge and alot of it, red sensitive, sore swollen vagina and lesion in the crease, my typical symptoms I've always experienced. But this time it was the increase milky discharge that was a bit different. Me just assuming it was related to the herpes, as I do when anything goes wrong down there, I find out its a Group B vaginal infection.
In the past, while making gyno visits for the same or extremely simular symptoms docs have told me was it was BV, Bacterial Vaginosis. I was treated for that, twice, and it didn't really do anything. I've treated it for a yeast infection, I've stopped taking birth control pills thinking this might stop these terrible symptoms as I've been told from day one these symptoms are totally non related to the herpes. No one seems to know what the heck is going on. I get mixed answers to my questions...it's herpes...it's non-related to my herpes....it's a yeast infection...it's BV...oh now its Group B Strep!!! To be honest I don't know what to think anymore!!! 10 years dealing with these vaginal issues and I'm more confused as ever!!!! I just want to have a normal sex life and need to know what to tell my partner.
Was I wrongfully diagnosed with herpes (I've never had the blood test done)? Has it always been Group B Step (Which I've read can have very similar symptoms to Herpes)? OH and, which has put a BIG spin on all of this is my Aunt informs me she has Group B strep and so did my great Aunt!!!!! ...now my daughter who is 3 has experienced yeast rashes since she's been born and now I think she has a lesion on her crease!  Is Group B Strep hereditary??
Today I'm going to talk to my doc about all this!!! My poor daughter! I need answers!!!!! AHHH!!

I had the same experience
Went to visit the Doctor and she told me I had it a trichmoniasis by seeing me and no lab test then she gave me medication to treat trichmoniasis, didn’t fix the problem!
Then I went back to Doctor for a second visit with the same problem
And she diagnosed me by seeing only! With Herpes! I was devastated : (
I told my Doctor same day to send samples to testing! NEGATIVE Results came back for herpes! Then another lab test results shows positive on Beta streptococcus type B positive!
Results is NOT herpes found but Beta streptococcus type B
You probably been diagnosed for years with herpes and you don’t even have that! Order a lab test for Herpes

I just got diagnosed with herpes last week but I didn't want to believe that to be true so I went to the ER and they told me I have strep B they gave me antibiotics and it cleared what the other doctor told me was herpes. I'm very confused and scared to be honest but you just made me feel so much better now I feel like I'm not alone and I'm going to push to get answers myself. I'm only 21 years old, I don't sleep around with random people and that's why the herpes conclusion came to me as a shock as well. I haven't seen an obgyn yet but I will very soon, hopefully with this little push you gave me, I'll figure this out. THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!

I just had gotten diagnosed with type 1. Which I hear is very common but what caused me to get diagnosed with type one was I had to go to the emergency room because i had very bad pain when I used the Bathroom, turns out when the doctor checks me that she said It looked like herpes because I had a couple lesions, I have been with my husband for 7 years and before him there was no one, and he always used protection with his 2 previous partners who also were clean, so I knew that we were both clean, still unsure how I could of got type 1 to begin with but I have a six month old now and when I was pregnant with her I got diagnosed with Bstrep and took antibacterials when i delivered and Im now starting to think that they are diagnosing me with the wrong thing. I get my other bloodwork response on Friday and I'm hoping its nothing. But after hearing your story it makes me feel ok that it might be strep B and not herpes. I've been stressing out it is that.

Oh and my partner of 8 yrs that I have two children with are no longer together until recently. So I started taking suppressive therapy, Valtrex, in case I start to date again, and this "flare up" happened. So to me that double confirms it's not herpes but in fact the Group B Strep, which I did test positive for.

I have never had any herpes blisters since the very very first time 10 yrs ago.
I have tried treating these paper cut like lesions with valtrex and it doesn't really help, however I've put zovirax cream and that does seem to help. My initial reaction when these lesions first started of course I thought "herpes" and read that herpes can flare up like lesions instead of blisters. However, like I was saying, I read that group B strep can have lesions and sometimes herpes has been confused with Group B Strep. Also, when I went to the doctor last week with all these symptoms she says it's not herpes and totally a different issue and took a swab of my discharge and it WAS group B strep.

I just want some clarification on what exactly I'm dealing with here!!

well first off with the whole group B thing it comes and goes i had it for my first pregnancy and not for my other 2 it is normal and would not cause these symptoms

bacteria infections would most likley not cause creamy discharge but rather clumpy thick white like cottage cheese (eww i know)

have you had any blisters since your first outbreak or is it just the cut like things

does you man have facial hair that maybe scrtches you up a bit or just rought s e x?

when you have tese cuts do you try valtrex to see if that relives it... do you find that the area tingles before you get the paper like cut?
