Thank you for sharing. How long did your recovery take? And.... Have you have any fibroids return?
I did a myometcy with the bikini line in 2008 and though the recovery was rough it was well worth it.PlPlease do remember though that fibroids can return. But the surgery did releave my problems. Best wishes.
I've thought about that. Initially, I was adamant about getting a myomectomy. I wasn't ready to give up the option of having another baby one day. The longer this continues and the more I've thought about, I realize how fortunate I am to already have a child. I know many women experience these issues who don't have any children. At this point, I've become somewhat okay with a hysterectomy. So far, I'm still going in for a myomectomy, leaving it to the surgeon to decide if a hysterectomy is necessary once they open me up.
I would recommend you get a hyster done in regards to what you are dealing with. Your uterus is engulfed with fibroids and a Myomectomy would be pointless and a waste. Of course you SHOULD discuss the pros and cons of a hyster with your physician BEFORE you consent.
I can barely walk most of the time from the pain. My stomach bloating goes up & down, mostly looks like I'm 6 months pregnant. I get horrendous pain after eating. You know how you get runners cramp in your side? It feels like that across my whole lower abdomen. For the past few days, just to touch the skin anywhere on my entire abdomen hurts, it feels like there's a bruise being pressed on. Last night, I actually vomited. I don't understand all of this & why it's so severe. I've asked for a myomectomy, however, they say it's possible they'll end up having to do a hysterectomy. All I know is I want my life back asap. This is literal agony 90% of the time.
Thank you for your input and feedback, I appreciate it!
I could no longer walk with the fibroids and the doctor said that they attach themselves to other organs in your body, your colon, your kidneys, your stomach and at 34 I had a hysterectomy and have never ever never looked back.. I took hormones for a couple of years, but they are no longer giving those out unless its birth control. I use nothing, only had 1 or 2 hot flashes at 35 and they passed and never came back...
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon

To add: Surgery probably will help alleviate your complaints.
I had fibroids myself and had a Hyster. Your complaints are very typical for fibroids.
Normally, a bikini line incision and robotic surgery are being done nowadays for this, but in your case you are dealing with alot of fibroids and one is the size of a grapefruit and that might be the reason for the possibility for the verticle incision.
