please help! AM I PREGNANT?

i am a 23 year old female. I struggled with addication for years. i got sober on feb 22, 2009 for about 8 months and during that time i had my period every month. but  i fell off and started to shoot dope in early november of 09. since then i havent had my period still to this day july2nd. though i have been sober since may 18th. Well i started the methadone clinic on that day. so i dont really know if an MD would consider that to be "sober". Also on occasion i  smoke weed. i am also perscribed xanax 2mg 3 times a day. i dont usually take them 3 x a day since i believe i am or could be pregnant. about 2 weeks ago i took a HPT and it came back "yes" then the next day it came back "no".  i called my ob/gyn and had  blood work done and i am suppose to find out wether or not i am pregnant. although ive heard so many diffrent things about false negitives/ false positives, and so on i just need to know what is going on with me. i called my ob/gyn and they told me they couldnt give me the results b/c there wasnt a physician there to sign off on the blood work. it feels like a lifetime has gone by when its really only been a few weeks. so in all what i am asking is IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET PREGNANT IF I HAVENT HAD A PERIOD IN 8 MONTHS AND I HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX WITH MY HUSBAND, AND I TOOK A HPT AND IT CAME BACK PREGNANT AND THE NEXT ONE CAME BACK "NO"? - MYG

i did bleed for 2 months with my son so it could be possible. or it could be that you have come clean recently which has played a big part in how your body could be behaving , i would take another test

First off, congrats on taking the steps you have to get clean! You and I both know the kind of havoc drugs can create in your body. Rapid weight gain and/or rapid weight loss can affect your menstrual cycle as well as stress. Not having a regular mentraul cycle is very common, especially in women with a history of drug abuse. It doesn't mean that you can't get pregnant though. If you've been to the Dr where a blood test was done, your answer should be pretty difinitive, in the mean time I would suggest you treat yourself as a mother-to-be. Relax as much as you possibly can. Get lots of rest. Eat properly. Make your methadone clinic aware that you may very well be pregnant as well as the doctor that has prescribed the xanax, you'll want to be aware of any possible side effects.

You can Ovulate and not have a Period or Bleed. I didn't know when I got preg with my son, because I haden't had a AF in like a year. I didn't find out either I was prego with him until I was close to 15 weeks. So yes, you can get pregant without have a menstral bleed. AS far as the HPT you are taking.. when you got the pregnant one you were using a digital? Or are they both Lines? Also are you using first morning urine? I would say at this point you can be pregos. If you are having unprotected sex there is always a chance of being pregnant. I hope you get the results you are looking for.
