I fully agree with both Pink and JayBay, not to mention that many douches on the market can have some sketchy ingredients.  Also I would never use those "cleansing wipes" either.  The synthetic smell they have only confirms the chemical ingredient list on the box.  Good old soap and water is the most important, along with a healthy diet to keep your body healthy.  Also cotton/linen underwear if your best friend!!  Synthetic underwear does not allow your body to breath and can cause bacterial growth, yeast infections.  If you have any concerns about your reproductive health (discomfort, irritation, itchiness, funky discharge, odour etc...) don't use a douche!  This will only exacerbate the situation...you need to see your doctor and have a pap test.

OB/Gyns recommend that you do NOT douche.  If you douche, you wash out all the "good" bacteria and make it easier for the "bad" bacteria to grow. If you douche you are asking for a yeast infection.  Don't do it.

I personally think it's unnecessary as long as a woman pays attention to basic hygiene like bathing.  Sometimes douching causes more trouble than it's worth because it can alter the ph of the vagina and cause a yeast infection.  If you ever decide you need to, don't get the ones with a bunch of fragrance since it's the fragrance chemicals that can cause the trouble.  Besides, your parts weren't meant to smell like a bowl of fruit either!
