Hello. Im hoping someone can help with a personal experience or something similar they have been through. Long story short, I am having some symptoms [irregular periods, bleeding for 2-3 weeks off and on] mood swings, heart burn, constipation, serious fatigue [like struggle to even get out of bed after 6-8 hours of sleep] headaches, nausea during ovulation / periods. bloating, back aches. I'm not over weight but ive been trying to lose another 10lbs or so, and 6 months of tracking my food and eating at a caloric deficit, ive lost 2... My ovulation is painful, but not unbearable. My periods [if that is what you can call them..] are when most of these symptoms arise. I went to the Dr in feb and they did a pregnancy test and that was it. I went back in may and they did a complete hormonal work up and saw I had high levels of DHEAS hormone [my number was 697] so they sent me to get a CT scan, everything on that came back normal. So then they sent me for an ultrasound, and again - they didnt see anything alarming on that. She tried to put me on metformin for possible PCOS but I have 2 children [5 and 2], never had a problem getting pregnant, never had cysts, I'm not over weight, I get regular exercise, no oily skin, no excessive hair loss, no hairy arms / face, no acne [not even DURING my period]. So we are all just puzzled as to what is causing my symptoms, and what is causing the extremely high levels of DHEA. She has referred me to an Endo dr to check more into my hormones and even thyroid. But any other things we should be looking for? anything we could be missing? anyone go through this before?? I just want answers :/ she basically said "hyperandrogenism" and left it at that because shes puzzled like me. Thank you!
