Are most of you finding that vaginal dryness causes bright red blood that only shows on T.P.?
I had a complete hysterectomy 12 years ago and just tonight saw red blood after urination which seems to come from vagina.
I am 62 and do feel some dryness and tenderness.
No sex for 8 years, but the dryness is, I believe, new.
Is there an over-the-counter cream (like hormone cream or something) that will stop atrophy and thinning of the vagina?
I have no insurance and cannot afford a doctor and tests now.
If anyone else has found an easy (cheap) solution for red blood streaking due to vaginal dryness, please post. Thank you all for your suggestions.

I have the same problem. Hysterectomy in June 2007.  Cervical cauterization 3 weeks ago.  In one week I will be going in for surgery to remove my lower cervix & my left ovary with the hopes of stopping the bleeding & pain for good. My OBGYN is baffled as to why I should still be bleeding after all that has been done.  He says that I could be the 1% of all women who will still continue with a menstral cycle due to cells from the uterus having attached to other organs in the body.  Just great isn't it?  I'm hoping this will solve the problems.  You may want to discuss this with your doctor if your lower cervix was left in place.  It's the best advice I have to offer you.  Good luck!
