Lining of the uterus thickened on ultrasound........period 4 weeks late

I have a quick question. I am now 4 week late on my period and I went in for an ultrasound on today and the doctor said that my uterus lining was thick. I know that usually happen at around two weeks of pregnancy. I haven't seen a period in 8 total weeks now. He also only spent about 20 seconds on the entire ultrasound exam too, so I'm thinking he might have overlooked alot of stuff. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this. Please share your input with me. I'd really appreciate it.

Hi ms.  A year ago I was diagnosed with hyperplasia.  The doctor was all for a hysterectomy or depra privera shots.  I chose to do research and I started taking the vitamins and using progesterone cream from the womentowomen.com site.  I went back 3 months later and she did another biopsy and I was completely normal.  Now I ran out of the vitamins for a couple of months and I had an ultrasound today and they said that my lining was thick and bumpy.  I immediately called womentowomen.com and reordered the vitamins and progesterone cream.  I believe in natural stuff not this artificial pill taking that has numerous side effects.  I too have a lot of bloating and feel pregnant. I'm not pregnant those are just the symptoms.  You didn't say how old you were and how many children you have.  I had my four and last child who was 10 pounds and my uterus has never gone back to normal size, it has always been on the large side.  I had fibroids but those are gone to because I dealt with them the natural way.  I can't find a doctor is willing to deal with things naturally, they seem to always want to do surgery or use drugs so they can get their kickback.  Check out womentowomen.com  Let me know how you are doing.

I know this is old but I have taking 6 first response pregnant test all positive went to my obgyn and he did an ultrasound there blood test said negative and urine test so negative but all he could tell me is the lining of my uterus is thick and that’s messing up my hormones and causing positive test but I know what pregnant feels like I have 2 kids and I feel pregnant bloating hungry and craving things my breast are sore. Can someone please help me they are having me come back in next week for another ultrasound
There are a lot of things that can cause the lining of your uterus to be thickened, and things that can mess with your hormones to cause pregnancy like symptoms.  It is strange that you got six positive tests at home and negative at your appointment- but if those hormones are going a bit crazy for some other reason than pregnancy- you may see all those pregnancy symptoms too (hormones cause those symptoms).  Unfortunately, I think this is one of those times that you just have to wait and see what happens as time goes on- sounds like they are following up with you well, and hopefully they can tell more from an ultrasound in a week.  Waiting is so hard with things like this!  Let us know how you are doing!

Hi, welcome to the forum.  I hope you come back and let us know how your ultrasound goes next week.  Unfortunately, our body can often give us deceiving signals.  There is the unfortunate chance that you had a chemical pregnancy and the hormones that triggered a positive at home are decreasing, so got  a negative in the doctors office.  It's also important to read the tests as the boxes direct.  Letting it sit at all results in evap lines that look positive. The uterine lining can thicken due to a hormone imbalance and this can also make us late, have long cycles.  Or you could be that rare bird that is really pregnant with things not in a typical pattern.  Please come back and tell us how your appointment goes next week!

Hi Iamabeliever, how are you today. Just wanted to answer your post. To update you on how I am doing, the reason my uterus was thickened is because it was near time for my period to come on. I had already missed the entire month of July and was getting ready to miss the month of August, but it came the day before I missed that second period. So again, that was the reason for my uterus being thick. That's what the doctor told me. He says it usually thickens right before your period as well as when you're pregnant. I wasn't pregnant this time, maybe next time. Thanks for your post, I appreciate the concern. Oh, and I agree with you on the natural remedies. I don't care for all of those other pills either.

Last month I found out that I was pregnant and approximately 10 days later I started bleeding. The next day I went to see my ob/gyn.  They did a very throughl ultra sound.  My uterus was thickened but they were unable to see a sac.  I was 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. They said the thickening was normal for pregnancy and that you may or may not see a sac if I ovulated a little later than I thought I had. My first hpt was neg.. 3 days later my hcg quantitative level was 2.  I had misscarried.  Hope this may help. Good Luck.

I am a 66 yr old female who was just diagnosed with thickingin of the uterine wall.
I had a biopsy which was normal and was referred to an oncologist because of history of Breast back in the 80'.
The Specialist examined me and my sonogram and biopsy report and said that my uterus looked like any normal post menaposal uterus.

I am confused because my Gyn wants to do more test, which includes another Sonogram. I ask her to have it done at the hospital instead of the offiice and I think she was offended, but if I am going to have a second opionion I want all test to be done independently of the original Doctor. Is this being disrespectful.
Please let me hear from someone else who has this condition.
