Menopause

What age is typical for a woman to start going through menopause?

A woman can be in perimenopause (in other words, as you said, "to start going through menopause") for a decade or more, and then the average age in the U.S. for actually being in menopause is 51 or 52.  (Menopause defined as having had no period for a year.)
