My friend has not had a period for 7 months but she is not pregnant.  The doctors here aren't doing anything.  Sometimes she gets a high fever and chills.  She wants to know what could be the problem  She would like to get pregnant.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
What you are having can be due to secondary amenorrhea. Causes are varied and may include conditions that affect the ovaries, uterus, hypothalamus, or pituitary gland. It could be hypothyroidism, post pill amennorhea , polycystic ovarian syndrome or less frequently a pituitary tumor causing high prolactin levels or a hypothalamic disease. Seek a gynaecologist immediately who will take a careful medical history ,a physical examination, including a pelvic examination.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing

That does not sound good! I would get a second opinion from another doctor. Sometimes you get the ones who don't really want to do anything but cash in the paycheck.
If she experiences fever and chills before you can get her to another doctor, take her to the ER. If it is something serious, you do not want to let it drag on! Plus, if she comes in with a fever she will be seen faster. That is the best advice I can give! Hope all turns out well, I really do.
